Most people can execute when they know what to do. The hard part is seeing what to do.

A MapleCompass Direction Session helps you find the angle that fits your skills, your capital, and your constraints. One conversation. One report. Real next steps.

The Direction Session

WHAT THE DIRECTION SESSION IS

A structured 60-minute conversation followed by a written report you can act on the same week.

We start with you: your skills, your resources, your constraints, what's already working. From there, we map the angles worth pursuing, what the market is signalling, and where your unfair advantage actually lives. You leave with a clear 30-day plan and a curated list of resources, communities, and financing options to back it up.

The report is not a 50-page market study. It's the seven things you need to move: who you are, the angle, the market read, your edge, what your customers actually care about, the next 30 days, and the resources to support you.

Read it once. Pick the moves. Come back when you've done them.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

A complete engagement, delivered over two to three weeks:

-  A 60-minute structured discovery call (video, or in-person where possible)

-  A written report, typically 8 to 12 pages, delivered within 5 business days

-  One 30-minute follow-up debrief within 60 days, to check in on what's working

-  Access to the MapleCompass resource library: vetted communities, financing options, and tools relevant to your specific path

For clients who need deeper research, for example evaluating a specific business to buy or a feasibility study before committing capital, MapleCompass also offers custom Acquisition & Feasibility Reports. These engagements combine market research with primary field interviews and are scoped to the question.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

  • You have skills, ideas, or capital, but you're not sure what to actually build. You don't need motivation. You need an outside perspective that sees what you can't.

  • You're considering buying a business and want to think clearly about feasibility, risk, and structure before committing time or money.

  • You're already running something on the side and want to grow it into a real business: catering, consulting, services, products, anything.

  • You're a professional thinking about side income, eventual transition, or how to put capital to work outside your day job.

  • You're an immigrant or first-time owner navigating the Canadian context and want someone who understands both the constraints and the openings.

Neither, exactly. A coach helps you find your own answers. A consultant tells you what to do. MapleCompass does something in between. We bring outside pattern recognition and structured analysis, but the final calls are yours.

No, and anyone who does is selling something. What we guarantee is the quality of the thinking, the specificity of the next steps, and that we'll be honest with you about what's likely to work and what isn't.

No. MapleCompass is strategic advisory. We help you think through business decisions. For legal, tax, financial planning, accounting, or regulatory matters, you'll want qualified professionals in those fields. We're happy to point you toward good ones.

Two to three weeks, plus 60-day follow-up window.

Many clients come back for a custom-scoped Acquisition & Feasibility Report, or for a second Direction Session on a different question. There's no obligation either way. Just send us an email at maplecompass.ca@gmail.com
